Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to www.strategicaccessconsulting.com. We want everyone to be able to use this website.

Our commitment

Strategic Access Advisory Limited is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard recognised by the Equality and Human Rights Commission as meeting the reasonable adjustment duty under the Equality Act 2010.

We review this site regularly. If you find something that isn't accessible, please tell us and we'll do our best to fix it or provide an alternative.

Current compliance status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The issues we're aware of are listed below.

Known issues

We've identified the following accessibility issues and are working to resolve them:

Colour contrast

Some text on dark backgrounds uses reduced opacity, which may not meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required under WCAG 1.4.3. This affects secondary text in certain sections. We're replacing opacity-based colours with fixed accessible values.

Skip navigation

There's currently no 'skip to main content' link, which means keyboard users have to tab through the header on every page. This is a WCAG 2.4.1 issue. We're adding this as a priority fix.

Mobile navigation keyboard access

The mobile navigation menu doesn't fully communicate its open/closed state to screen readers. We're updating the code to add the correct ARIA state attributes.

Focus indicators

Visible focus indicators may be absent or insufficient on some navigation links and buttons. We're adding consistent focus styles across all interactive elements.

Blog article links

Some article links use the text 'Read article' without identifying which article they point to. Screen reader users navigating by links list may find these unhelpful. We're adding descriptive accessible names to each link.

External links opening in new tabs

Some external links open in a new browser tab without warning. We're updating these to notify users before they open.

Contact form feedback

The contact form doesn't currently announce submission results to screen readers via a live region. We're adding ARIA feedback so screen reader users know whether their message was sent successfully.

What's working

  • The site has a correct language attribute set, so screen readers use the right speech engine.
  • All pages have unique, descriptive page titles.
  • Headings follow a logical hierarchy on every page.
  • All form fields on the contact page have properly associated labels.
  • The site is fully responsive and works on mobile devices.
  • Interactive icon buttons have accessible names via aria-label.
  • External links include security attributes to prevent opener vulnerabilities.

If you encounter a barrier on this website, we want to know. We can also provide information in an alternative format if the standard website version isn't working for you.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (opens in a new tab).

Technical information

This website is built using Next.js and Tailwind CSS and is served as a static site. It's been tested with keyboard navigation and reviewed against WCAG 2.1 criteria. We haven't yet completed full testing with assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver, and we're planning to do that as part of our ongoing improvement work.
